The second game of the fake world cup saw Diego Forlan’s Uruguay come up against Thierry Henry (Le Cheating Bastard).
Given how France reached the world cup it was immediately obvious that they underestimated the qualities that Uruguay possessed.
France took the lead early from a wonderfully taken individual goad by Benzima. Benzinma broke though after some good pressure on the defense and finished with a great one on one lob of the Uruguay keeper.
Forlan quickly restored parity with a tremendous finish to a great team move. Uruguay passed the ball wonderfully and worked a great opening for Forlan who finished expertly with a volley past into the back of the net.
With the game well balanced, France struck back immediately and unexpectedly through Thierry Henry who scored with a shot off the post after cutting inside from a simple pass. French joy was short lived after some pretty poor defending presented Forlan with an unmissable chance from withing the six yard box. He duly obliged and the tie was leveled.
Looking to cause Uruguay more trouble, NIckolas Anelka was brought on, but Diego Forlan continued to look most likely to settle the tie.
Forlan and Uruguay ultimately regretted not taking advantage of their dominance as a long ball into Anelka eventually resulted in France taking a 3-2 lead that they held onto.
Next up for France is Mexico who emphatically beat the hosts 3-0 in the opener, and it looks like a draw could potentially see both teams progress.
